Olympia Ceramica: Promoter of Ecological Innovation since 2012

Olympia Ceramica launched the “Water is Life” project in 2012, aimed at saving water in sanitary plumbing. Today, all Olympia toilets can operate with just 3 liters of water for the flush system, and we are taking our research and development even further in this area.

Since 2021, Olympia Ceramica has been one of the founders of APEA (Ecologically Equipped Production Areas) established in the Civita Castellana and Corchiano Ceramics District. APEA's primary function is to reuse waste created by producers, building a system of Circular Economy, Sustainability, and a Zero-Waste policy. More and more companies are joining APEA, allowing the model to grow further.

Furthermore, in 2023, Olympia Ceramica became the founder of a CER (Renewable Energy Community) that involves not only producers but also consumers (including families in difficulty) in the system.

Sustainability and Business Ethics

Thanks to our photovoltaic system we produce approximately 90% of the energy we use.

Una mano fa il gesto

Olympia Ceramica owns a photovoltaic system that covers approximately 90% of its energy consumption. Continuously improving our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance is one of the company's key objectives.

  • The cardboard used in Olympia packaging boxes contains 82% recycled material.
  • The stretch film used in Olympia packaging contains 88% recycled material.
  • Each year we ask our key suppliers to identify and complete a questionnaire covering Health and Safety, Sustainability, and Business Ethics requirements.
  • Our goal is to implement an advanced monitoring system for energy consumption and preventative maintenance by the end of 2026.
  • The water used in the production cycle is collected, filtered and purified through a physical-chemical process.
  • Production waste before firing (broken or damaged pieces) is collected and reused as secondary raw material.
  • Production waste after firing is collected and partially reused by APEA partners in the porcelain stoneware production process.
  • Our emissions are regularly monitored and assessed by a third party according to industry standards.
